Jack in the Box’s $66 Trillion Promotional Campaign to Put a Hat on the Moon
Usually, it’s KFC we’re referring to when talking about a fast food chain with an out of this world promotional campaign. But today, Jack in the Box and their mascot’s signature hat looked to capitalize on the solar eclipse.
Surely you can tell by now that this was a gag promotion, or as some would call it, #fakenews. They never actually expected to crowd source $66 Trillion, if it were that easy our country’s deficit wouldn’t be what it is.
But for those who did donate to Project Moon Hat, their dollars were given to No Kid Hungry, a non-profit that provides children with food and educates families on healthy, affordable meals.

Promo Market Reacts to Walmart Entering Industry
Walmart is the world’s largest company in reference to revenue. Fun fact, I can see their headquarters from my office, but that has nothing to do with this article.
In August, Walmart Promo Shop was launched, an online space where anyone can purchase branded or personalized merchandise. ASI polled their twitter following asking, “How concerned are you that Walmart has entered the #PromoProducts industry?”
- 21% – Not at all
- 35% – A little
- 25% – A lot
- 19% – We’re doomed!
It’s been a few months now, do you think Walmart has had an effect on the industry? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. You can also follow us on Instagram using the hashtag #hatswork.
