What a weird time it is to be alive.

Clothing brands like Hugo Boss are now offering apparel with the logos and other typography designs written backwards so that they will appear correct in posted mirror selfies ⁸. You read that right. In real life (IRL as the kids say) the taglines and logos are backwards so that they can be legible online ⁹.

Are augmented ¹⁰ and artificial ¹¹ reality overtaking real life? One could argue for it.

Remember back to this time 4 years ago. It was 2015; Obama was President ¹³, and Starbucks ¹⁴ unwillingly waged a War on Christmas ^{25 15} by designing a simple disposable cup ¹⁶ for the season ¹⁷. After nearly 20 years of holiday ^{20 18} cups, the internet was outraged that Starbucks ¹⁹ chose a plain red option to complement the green logo, despite all the advice that simplicity is key in design elements (see below.)
