Bling from the 2018 SHOT Show: Why Cool Hats Matter

On Monday, we looked at Outdoor Cap’s line of Mossy Oak Hats unveiled at this year’s SHOT Show. This article, also about headwear featured at SHOT Show, is a testament to how important licensing and branding is in the hunting and outdoors market.

One annual SHOT Show attendee talks about his three favorite caps that he picked up at this year’s show as well as some other hunting apparel items.

Hats Crafted by Local Man End Up Center Stage at Grammy Award

It’s been several weeks since the Grammy Awards, so our apologies for just now getting to this one, but the Grammy-Nominated Band, Midland, caught a lot of attention for the hand-crafted cowboy hats they wore to the awards ceremony.

Standard Hat Works is a company in Waco, Texas. And I think it’s obvious why we’re particularly pleased with the business’s name. Owner, Cameron Morris, designed and created the hats Midland wore. He said he spends around 10 hours on each hat.

Holiday Promotion: McDonald’s is Giving Away a $10K Ring that Looks Like a Big Mac

Again, we’re a few weeks behind on this, but it was my favorite Valentine’s Day promotion I’ve seen in years, so we have to talk about it.

McDonald’s gave away an 18-karat ring with seven tiers of diamonds, sapphires, and other gemstones valued at over $10,000. Registrants tweeted their vows of love to the Big Mac using the hashtag #BlingMacContest to enter by midnight on Valentine’s Day.
