Dad’s Day Brings Unique Opportunities for Custom Caps

June 3, 2016 - By Emily Potter

Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 18 – just right around the corner! We know dads love hats, so we should be selling custom caps to the places dads will be frequenting over the next few weeks, don’t you think?

We’ve compiled a list of places that will need promotional hats this year. These places should be giving out promotional hats to the dads shopping for themselves and to the people shopping for a Father’s Day gift. Either way, it will make its way to dad’s head, and he will proudly wear it.

Let’s think about all the places our dads go to on a regular basis.

Custom CapsWhere Does Dad Frequent?

Golf resorts and country clubs are an obvious first choice. According to Golf Link, there are over 25 million golfers in the U.S. Only about 20% of these are women. An easy benefit to focus on when selling is the sun protection hats provide during a long day on the course or the driving range.

Another place many of our fathers frequent is auto part supply stores. Even if he isn’t mechanically inclined, he loves to feel like he is. Local part stores and national chains alike can benefit from promotional hats year round; even if he’s only capable of changing the oil, he’s changing it every few months.

After a long week at the office is there anything like sitting down in that leather chair with a hot towel on your face? Barbershops have been a place of comfort and community for generations.

In recent years, the traditional straight razor shave has come back in full force, and shave shops are popping up all over the place. Barbers have amped up their game by giving their shops a sports bar atmosphere and serving beer to customers. It’s no surprise men are eating it up.

Lawn and garden, sports, and outdoor stores should arrange their promotional advertising around the summer months. Summer brings with it garden parties, lawn care, camps, and water activities. Dads love nothing more than a weekend at the lake, but they’ll have to stock up at their local outdoors outlet before heading out. And because custom caps have an average lifespan of 7 months, they will be worn well into the winter season.

Some additional places to consider when selling promotional products this time of year include the following: local bars and taverns, microbreweries and vineyards, video game and technology stores, gyms, home improvement stores, dinner theaters, performing arts centers, and spas.

Some dads don’t get a tangible gift; instead, they’ll go to an event or on a vacation to celebrate.

According to Paladone, the fifth most common gift on Father’s Day in 2015 was an experience or retreat. What did they do; where did they go? Well, we came up with a list so you don’t have to! Reach out to companies who offer experiences like these to see how you can meet their promotional needs!
