When a player gets picked up from a team, he will cross the stage, put on his team's cap, exchange handshakes, and smile for the camera. New Era lead designer, Mike Raychel, said these designs have been in development for the past 15 months. The difference for 2017 is all team caps will have a white crown, and they have omitted putting the year on the hat in hopes of giving them a longer lifespan.
