October’s Hopeful Shade of Pink

October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and everyone from car salesmen to professional athletes are painting their towns pink! Breast cancer awareness campaigns raise an estimated $6 billion annually; funds finance things like cancer research, early detection programs, and free mammograms. According to the IRS, there are over 1,400 tax-exempt charities devoted to the cause.

Often, companies who offer apparel brandishing the pink ribbon will donate a percentage of sales to a breast cancer cause. Even just wearing the color pink can help start the conversation which we hope ultimately will bring a cure.
