Predicting the Hottest Promotional Products of 2020

We’re just weeks away from 2020, so it’s time to start thinking about what promotional products will be in high demand for the New Year. Will the sustainability movement still be in full swing or will another trend take its place? Can custom socks maintain their popularity? What about PopSockets? While I can’t predict the future, here are five promotional products I think are going to remain top giveaway items and corporate gifts in 2020.

Reusable Straws

Plastic straws have been in the nation’s crosshairs for a while now, with some cities even banning them all together right along with single-use plastic grocery bags. To jump on this, companies started producing reusable straws made out of stainless steel, silicone, glass, and even bamboo, and they took off. So much so that ASI named them the 2019 Promo Item of the Year. I think they will continue to have a huge impact as we move into 2020.

Custom Socks

It seems like you can’t walk into the clothing section of any store without seeing a pair of colorful socks with an iconic logo, cartoon character, or some other fun design on them.

What’s to thank for the boom in custom socks? One theory is that it provides people who work in industries with strict dress codes the ability to show off a little individuality. So, if you’re looking to bring your brand into footwear, there’s never been a better time to do so.

Drinkware

Stainless steel drinkware reached mass audiences when Yeti made its appearance a few years ago and has maintained popularity since. There’s no reason to think that trend shouldn’t continue in 2020. Why? Manufacturers have been keeping these products on the cutting edge by consistently finding new ways to make them more ergonomic and functional. Some even come with storage compartments on their bases or built-in speakers! And with consumers’ shift toward sustainability, reusable products are always a safe bet.

Phone Accessories

No other product on this list is as good for reaching a young audience as PopSockets. The circular phone grips have become a surprise hit with young people since they were introduced in 2012 and even landed on the Forbes Stocking Stuffers for Teenagers list.

Something that keeps PopSockets on the upswing is the innovative add-ons that keep coming out for them. You can now have PopSockets that double as a lip balm dispenser or include a grip for your wireless earbuds.

Speaking of wireless earbuds, they’re another hot item for 2020. The first pair came out in early 2015, but it wasn’t until 2016 when a certain tech giant produced their own, that they became one of the hottest tech products in the world.

They make a great promotional product because of the branding potential on the rechargeable case. Wireless earbud owners take them almost everywhere they go and now, they’ll be taking your brand with them. If you’re looking to woo a prospect or show your appreciation to an existing customer, wireless earbuds are the way to go.
