We will start today’s Round-Up with four pieces of advice from the owner of a promotional products company. After that, it’s all about caps and market trends.

First, we’ll discuss SanMar’s final style trend of 2016, which is all about appropriate caps and athleisure clothes for when the travel bug bites. Then we’ll look at how Bella + Canvas is making apparel history with their latest T-shirt.

Expert Advice: How Can I Best Utilize Promotional Caps?

Herman Luette, owner of FPC Promotions, provides advice to companies looking to advertise with promotional products. In order to use promos as a business investment and maintain a valuable ROI, he proposes that you do (or don’t do) four key things.

  1. Know your customer.
  2. See what other businesses are doing.
  3. Look for different ways to grab attention.
  4. Don’t be cheap.

SanMar

Wanderlust

SanMar offers six style trends every year and Wanderlust is the name of the final trend for 2016. Other styles of 2016 include Varsity Evolved, Modern Traveler, American Vintage, New 9 to 5, and Elemental Outerwear.

This trend is driven by athleisure styles with comfort measures and performance fabrics. Flat visor and plastic snap closure caps are popular for men, while bucket hats are cited as trending for women.

Beyond the Blank

Meet the First Ever, Black Heather

We’ve been raving about heathered fabrics in our women’s trend and men’s trend blogs. You could easily call it one of the most popular looks and textures in today’s apparel.

After some market research, Bella + Canvas found that there wasn’t a black color in the heather family. Plenty of shades of grey existed, but they were unable to find a true black. So, 18 months ago, they began work on developing one and today, they’re offering it in one T-shirt style.

I doubt they can hold on to the exclusive for long, be on the look out for black heathered caps.
