Youth Hat Trends: Autumn/Winter 2018![]() Today, we bring you Youth Hat Trends, the third article in the Autumn/Winter 2018 style series. As we know, every season has 4 overarching trends. The first style for the A/W ‘18 season is full of color blocking and classic, distressed collegiate-inspired looks. The second trend consists of earthy tones and aged effects like quilting, beadwork, leather pieces, and metal embellishments. The third style revolves around high-tech 1, artificial intelligence-inspired 2 designs. Textures like metallic leather, velvet, and glow in the dark effects make a bold statement. The final trend focuses on combing cultures and generations through street art and shared nostalgia. Neon colors accent ethnic patterns. These include sublimation, sequins, iridescent elements, animal prints, polka dots, stripes, simple patterns, jacquarding, poms, double poms, and animal ears. CapsThe dad hat 6 trend has made its way into the children's market. You'll see a lot of headwear with taglines and dad hats with small hits of embroidery, often times flowers. Cold WeatherPoms remain popular for girls, we're also seeing double pigtail poms. Cable knits, Peruvians, trappers, and jacquarding are all common. You can expect character beanies 10 7 and lots of purple and berry colors. GraphicsSome common elements for girls include hearts, rainbows, animals, florals, emojis, food 8, butterflies, and dinosaurs. You can expect a lot of motivational taglines and pop culture references. There is a lot of whimsical art with bohemian and outdoor-inspired graphics. ![]() BoysThere is a variety of decoration elements expected for boy's headwear in the A/W ‘18 season. These include generic camos, tie-dyes, leather patches, suede patches, pattern accents, sublimation, stripes, heathered fabrics, color blocking, poms, and textured weaves. CapsFlat visors are more popular among boys, but pre-curved baseball caps are still being used. You'll see a lot of blues and navys; many caps are directly inspired by adult looks from the men's market 9. Cold WeatherBelieve it or not, poms are really popular in boy's styles. You'll see a lot of stripes, heathering, color blocking, textured weaves, and character beanies 10 7. GraphicsWe're seeing a lot of superimposed graphics. Novelty images such as neon sign looks, dinosaurs, sharks, animal skeletons, food 11, and animals with sunglasses are present. Motivational taglines and beach scenes are also very common. ToddlersYouth hat trends also include toddler styles for both girls and boys. GirlsStyles for toddler girls include simplified graphics with cutesy taglines. Flowers, butterflies, and cute animals are also very common. You'll see a lot of headwear with animal ears or character designs. BoysTrends for toddler boys include simplified graphics and tough taglines. Monsters, dinosaurs, sharks, power vehicles, and cute characters are also popular elements.
